Would A Long Wearing Foundation Benefit You?

Some occasions call for makeup that will stay put all day. If you're anything like me, that occasion is just about every day. I firmly believe if you can't rely on your base, you're in trouble. We have all caught a glimpse of ourselves in a window, or getting out of the car around 2pm with a good portion of that expensive foundation you spent the time you could have been eating a slice of toast applying no where to be seen.

Fortunately there are some fantastic long wearing foundations that promise to take you through to the end of the day and then some! In fact, I wear most of these through to after work drinks with a touch of concealer over those 'frequently disturbed' - think tissues on the nose, and palm on the chin - areas.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear

Lancôme’s best-selling liquid foundation for good reason. This medium-coverage, ultra lightweight foundation boasts a claim for 24hr wear. I can't say I have ever left it sitting on my skin quite that long, but I did apply before a 6am flight out of Adelaide, and when I landed in Singapore some 17hrs and two delayed flights later it was still in place. Smudge and transfer free, with a velvet matte finish.

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Another ultra long wearing foundation, promising 24 hours of wear. A truely buildable foundation that can go from a light sweep across the face, to an airbrushed natural, semi-matte finish.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

A medium-coverage foundation that provides a flawless look every time. Everyone I know who uses this foundation loves something different about it. For me, its the hyaluronic ingredient that work to plump the skin after application. Another velvet-matte finish, that I find to be less able to build to a full coverage as the two previously mentioned.
