What You Need To See At The Fringe

Did someone say Carnivale meets Mardi Gras? With the entire city transformed, my head is in a giddy spin as the first week of the Fringe has drawn to a close. I had ambitious plans to squeeze as much of the unbelievably-eclectic-program in as possible, and after a jam packed first week, here are the shows that get my biggest tick of recommendation.

Blanc de Blanc

The performance where champagne flows as freely as your mind wanders, and eyes sparkle. Blanc de Blac is a sensual night of wonder that will leave you with an insatiable desire for more. It is fun and risqué, the perfect balance of comedy and acrobatic talent.

Presented by TEOC Circus, one of the very few all female acrobatic troupes. At just over a year old, the group has already been well acclaimed with two awards to their name. This is one for the lovers of circus and not necessarily those who love a clear story to follow. Entropy is a brilliant display of a dynamic and powerful acrobatic performance, it will leave you gasping and wondering why it is you can barely manage a push-up at the gym.

Kosher Bacon

Michael Shafar is clever, witty and well-timed with his stand up Kosher Bacon. An approachable introduction to stand up, with just the right amount of awkwardness that leaves audiences giggling.

To see what I am looking most forward to take a look at My Top Fringe Picks. And add in Séance, and Dion!
